Co-founder and President, Regional Director, Wife, Daughter, Friend… Cassie has many titles but her favorite is the title of Sam and Ava’s Mom. As Sam’s Mom, Cassie co-founded the Super Sam Foundation to keep her promise to him. Cassie and her husband, Matt, along with the Board of Directors, created the Foundation with a three-fold mission: comfort, awareness/advocacy, and research. One thing Cassie learned early on in Sam’s fight is that pediatric cancers gets less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s research funding. As her nightmare unfolded, Cassie has vowed to fight the monster that took her son, in the hope that one day no family would be left without options. Honoring her promise to Sam, the Foundation is where she focuses her energy to caring for Sam now.
Cassie is a dedicated wife and mother and a faith-filled, kind-hearted soul. To know Cassie is to know that she loves her family and spends each of her days taking care of both of her children. With the support of her husband, her parents, and her dear friends and family, Cassie is making a difference for all the heroes in the fight and their families. The Foundation’s accomplishments are no small feat and, even though she won’t take credit for it, her faith and her dedication have moved mountains since 2014…and she’s just getting started!
